Bao is a game that comes from East Africa, where people use small pieces to play against each other. The board that they use has two rows of small bowls, with a bigger bowl at each end.
The idea of the game is to try and get more pieces in your opponent’s side than they have on yours. You start by putting four pieces in each bowl, and then you take turns picking up all the pieces in one bowl and dropping them into the other bowls going around the board.
If you end up with extra pieces at the end of your turn, then you get to take those and put them in your big bowl. If you end up with no pieces on your side, then you can take some from your opponent’s side and put them in your bowl.
Once one of the big bowls has more than half the pieces, the game is over, and whoever has the most pieces in their bowl wins! People have been playing this game for a really long time, and it’s a fun way to spend time with friends and family.
