ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bargaining unit

A bargaining unit is a group of workers who all do similar jobs and have similar work conditions. They come together as a group so they can have a stronger voice when they want to negotiate better pay, benefits, and work conditions with their employer. It's like when you and your friends want a big piece of cake to share, and you all go talk to the grown-up to see if they can cut it into bigger pieces so everyone gets more cake. The bargaining unit helps workers work together to get what they want from their boss.
