ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Baron and feme

Imagine that there are two people, a man and a woman. The man is called a "baron" and the woman is called a "feme." In old times, they were important terms used to describe married couples.

The baron was like the boss of the house. He was in charge of making decisions and providing for his family. He owned everything in the house, like the furniture and the land they lived on.

The feme was in charge of taking care of the house and the kids. She didn't own anything because everything belonged to her husband, the baron.

So, if the baron made a decision, the feme had to follow it even if she didn't agree with it. However, sometimes the feme had to step in when the baron was busy or not around to take care of things.

Nowadays, these terms are not commonly used, and both men and women have equal rights in marriage. So, nobody is a baron or a feme anymore!
