Barony (country subdivision)

A barony is like a really big piece of land that a king or queen controls, and they let someone else take care of it. That person is called a baron or baroness, and they are in charge of making sure everything on the land is running smoothly. They make sure people have places to live, food to eat, and they protect them from any bad guys who might want to hurt them.
