The Summer Universiade is like a big sports party where university students from all around the world get together to compete in different sports. One of those sports is baseball, which is a game played with a bat and a ball.
In baseball, two teams take turns trying to score points by hitting the ball and running around a special shape called a diamond. Each team has nine players, and they try to get as many points as they can by hitting the ball with the bat and running around the diamond.
When a player from one team hits the ball, they try to run as fast as they can to the first shape on the diamond, called first base. If they make it there without one of the players from the other team catching the ball and touching them with it, they are safe.
Once they reach first base, they can try to run to the next shape on the diamond, which is called second base. If they make it there safely, they can keep running to third base and then ultimately all the way back to the fourth base, which is called home plate. Each time they touch one of these bases without getting out, they score a point for their team.
Now, the team in the field tries to get the batter from the other team out. They can do this by catching the ball that the batter hits before it touches the ground, or by touching one of the bases that the runner is trying to reach with the ball before they get there.
The game goes on until both teams have taken turns batting and fielding. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
At the Summer Universiade, many different countries send their best university baseball players to compete against each other. They get to represent their countries and show off their baseball skills. It's really exciting to watch and cheer for your favorite team!
