ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Basic Medicine

Okay kiddo, let me explain what basic medicine is.

Do you know that when we fall sick, we get medicine from the doctor? That medicine helps us to feel better by treating the illness that we have.

Basic medicine means the medicine that is used for common illnesses like fever, cough, cold, headache, stomachache, and so on. It is the kind of medicine that we can easily buy from a pharmacy without a doctor's prescription.

These medicines come in different forms like tablets, capsules, syrups, and even injections. They have different names that might sound difficult like Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, and Amoxicillin.

When we take these medicines, they go into our body and help our cells to become healthy again. They can also help to kill bacteria and viruses that cause infections.

It is important to remember that we should always take these medicines only when we need them and as prescribed by a doctor. We should never take too much medicine or give it to someone else without the doctor's advice. Also, we must always read the instructions on the medicine bottle carefully to know how much to take and when to take it.

That's basic medicine for you, kiddo!
