ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bass number

Sure! So, imagine you have a super cool, special number called a "bass number". A bass number is a number that can be divided evenly by a whole bunch of other numbers. It's like having a lot of friends who can all share this special number and still have some left over.

Let's say we have the number 10. If we try to divide it by 2, it goes in evenly and we get 5. That means 10 is divisible by 2. So, 10 is a bass number for 2. Now, let's try dividing 10 by 5. Again, it goes in evenly and we get 2. That means 10 is also divisible by 5. So, 10 is a bass number for both 2 and 5.

But it doesn't stop there! Bass numbers can have even more friends. For example, 10 can be divided evenly by 1 (because anything divided by 1 is itself), by itself (10 divided by 10 is 1), and by 10 divided by 10, which is 1. So, 10 is a bass number for 1, 2, 5, and 10!

This special ability to be divided evenly by so many different numbers is why bass numbers are so cool and special. They have lots of friends and can make lots of people happy by being divisible by them. And because they have so many friends, we call them bass numbers.
