Batavia (1628 ship)

Batavia was a very big boat that sailed on the water a very long time ago, in the year 1628. It was very important because it carried many people who wanted to start a new life in another place far away. It was like a big moving house on the water.

However, something bad happened during the trip. The boat hit a big rock and started to break into pieces. People were very scared because they could not swim very well and the water was very deep. Some people even got hurt and some died.
