Bath salts (drug)

Bath salts are not actually salts that you add to your bath to make it smell nice, even though they have the word "bath" in their name. They are a type of drug that some people take to feel happy or excited, but they can also make people feel very sick or crazy.

The problem with bath salts is that they are made with chemicals that can mess up your brain and body. You see, your brain has tiny cells in it called neurons that help you think, move, and feel. These cells use chemicals called neurotransmitters to send messages to each other. When you take bath salts, they affect the way your brain neurons work and can make your brain release too much of one of these neurotransmitters called dopamine.

Dopamine is the chemical in your brain that makes you feel happy when you do something fun, like hugging your parents, playing with your toys, or eating your favorite ice cream. But when bath salts make your brain produce too much dopamine, it can mess up the normal balance of chemicals in your brain. That's why people who take bath salts can feel very anxious, paranoid, or even violent. They may not realize what they are doing or saying, and they can put themselves and others in danger.

So, bath salts are not a safe or fun thing to play with. They can hurt your brain and your body and even make you do things you would never do if you were sober. It's important to stay away from these drugs and talk to a grown-up you trust if you have any questions or concerns about them.
