Bathtub Madonna

A long time ago, people liked to have pictures or statues of their favorite religious figures in their homes. One of the most popular figures was a lady named Mary, who was the mother of Jesus.

Sometimes, people couldn't afford fancy statues or couldn't find any to buy. So they made their own statues out of things they had lying around.

One day, a person decided to make a statue of Mary out of an old bathtub. They put some paint on it and made it look pretty.

This bathtub statue was called a "Bathtub Madonna". People loved it because it was unique and homemade. They put it in their gardens or in front of their houses to remind them of Mary and Jesus.

And that's how a bathtub became a statue of a holy lady!
