ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Battery terminals

So, batteries are a lot like toys that you play with. Just like toys, batteries have two ends - one is called the positive (+) end and the other is called the negative (-) end.

Now, these ends are really important because they help the battery do its job properly. The positive end is like the boss and it tells the battery what to do. The negative end is like the worker and it does all the work as instructed by the boss.

When you want to use a battery, you need to have something that connects to these ends so that it can get the power that the battery has stored inside it. That's where the terminals come in.

Terminals are like special hooks that are attached to the ends of a battery. They stick out so that you can easily connect things to them like wires or other toys that need the power from the battery.

When you attach something to the terminals, the battery gets excited and starts sending its power through the wires or whatever else is connected to it. And that's how battery terminals work, like little hooks that help you connect toys and other things to the power inside a battery.
