A long, long time ago in China, there were two groups of people called the Wei and the Wu. They didn't like each other very much and were always fighting over land and power.
One day, a very important man named Zhuge Liang was in charge of defending a city called Fancheng. The Wei army wanted to take over the city from Zhuge Liang's Wu army.
Zhuge Liang was very clever and came up with a plan to protect the city. He noticed that the Wei army had a lot of soldiers, but not a lot of food and supplies. So, he ordered his army to block the Wei army's supply lines.
This meant that the Wei army couldn't get any more food or weapons to help them fight. They were stuck and didn't know what to do.
But the Wei army's leader, a man named Cao Ren, was also very intelligent. He knew that he needed to think of a way to outsmart Zhuge Liang's plan.
Cao Ren decided to send some of his soldiers to sneak around and attack the Wu army from behind. This was a risky move, but it worked. The Wu army was caught off guard and had to retreat back into the city.
Zhuge Liang knew that he needed to come up with a new plan quickly. He ordered his soldiers to dig a tunnel underground and secretly enter the Wei army's camp.
Once they were inside, the Wu army set fire to the Wei army's food and supplies. This meant that the Wei army had nothing left to eat or use for weapons.
In the end, the Wu army was able to defeat the Wei army and protect the city of Fancheng. It was a very difficult battle, but Zhuge Liang's clever strategies helped to save the day.
