Bayh–Dole Act

The Bayh–Dole Act is a law that allows universities, companies, and inventors to own and make money from inventions made using federal funding. Before Bayh–Dole, the government owned these inventions and didn't let people make money off them. Now, companies and universities can own their inventions and make money by selling or licensing the inventions or making products from them. It also helps people invent things faster because they know they can make money off what they create.
