ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bayonet charge

A bayonet charge is when a soldier has a long, sharp thing at the end of their gun called a bayonet. When they are very close to the enemy and can't shoot them anymore, they put the gun down and use just the bayonet to try to stab the enemy. It's like playing tag, but instead of touching someone with your hand, you try to touch them with the bayonet. It can be very scary because both sides are trying to win and there can be a lot of noise and confusion. It's important to be very brave and follow your leader's instructions to stay safe.
