ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Beak

A beak is like a bird's mouth. It's the hard part that sticks out from the front of their face.

Think of it like your own mouth, but instead of lips and teeth, a bird's beak is made out of hard, bony material.

The beak is important for birds because they use it to eat, drink, and even build their nests. Depending on the type of bird, the beak may be different sizes and shapes to help them do different things.

Some birds have very pointy beaks that they use for grabbing insects or tearing apart their food. Other birds have wider beaks that they can use like tweezers to pick up small things.

So just like how you need your mouth to eat and talk, birds need their beaks to do a lot of important things!
