Beaverboard is a special type of board that is made from wood fibers. You know how you can make paper by crushing up some wood and pressing it together? Well, beaverboard is kind of like that, but it's much stronger and thicker.
Beaverboard was really popular a long, long time ago when people didn't have a lot of options for building materials. They used it to make walls and ceilings in their homes, and even as insulation to keep things warm.
The reason it's called beaverboard is because it was first made by a man named Francois-Xavier-Antoine Labelle, who lived in a place called the Laurentian Mountains in Canada. There were a lot of beavers living in that area, and the beavers would build these really strong dams out of sticks and mud. So, Labelle thought that if he could make a board that was just as strong as a beaver dam, he could use it for building.
Beaverboard may not be used as much anymore because there are newer and better building materials available today, but it's still really interesting to learn about!
