ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Belief in luck

Believing in luck is thinking that good things can happen to you just because you are lucky or that bad things can happen because you are unlucky. Some people believe that luck is like magic and it can help them win at games or get a job they really want. It's also like a special power that some people have and others don't.

Some people might say "good luck" to someone who is going to do something important, like taking a test or going on a trip, to wish them success. They believe that saying that can help the person do well.

However, luck isn't really a magical force. It's just a word we use to describe when things happen by chance. For example, finding money on the street would be called "good luck." But really, it's just a coincidence that the money was there at that time.

It's important to remember that luck is not something that can be controlled. We have to work hard to achieve our goals, and sometimes things might not go the way we planned. So, while it's okay to think positively and wish for good things to happen, we should also focus on our efforts and not give all the credit to luck.
