ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Belonger status

Alright kiddo, so Belonger status is kind of like a special membership card that some people get in certain places, like some islands in the Caribbean. It means that these people really belong there and have certain rights and privileges that other people who aren't belongers don't have.

You know how when you go to a friend's house, they might ask you to take off your shoes before you go inside? It's kind of like that - belongers have special access to certain things on the island and get to do things that other people might not be able to.

But don't worry if you're not a belonger - it doesn't mean you're not welcome on these islands or that you can't have a great time there. Everyone can still have fun and enjoy the beautiful beaches and activities, but belongers just get some extra benefits.
