Bendir

Well kiddo, a bendir is a kind of drum that is very popular in North Africa and the Middle East. It is a hand-held drum that is played by tapping it with your fingers and palms.

The bendir has a wide round shape, just like a pizza, and it's made of a wooden frame with a stretched out goat skin on one side. It has a bunch of little metal rings in the center that shake and make jingling sounds when you play it.

When you play the bendir, you hold it with one hand and tap it with the other hand in different ways to make different sounds. Sometimes you tap it with all your fingers together, sometimes you use just your fingertips, and sometimes you use the side of your hand.

People have been playing the bendir for hundreds of years, and it's often used in traditional music for parties and celebrations. It's also really cool because you can decorate it with colorful designs and patterns to make it look even more special.
