ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bene Elohim

Bene Elohim means “Sons of God” in Hebrew. In the Bible, it is used to describe powerful beings that are believed to be angels or divine beings. These beings are said to have special abilities and are associated with God.

Imagine you are playing with your toys and you have a special toy that can fly and do amazing things. That special toy is like a Son of God. Just like how God has special powers, these beings are said to have abilities beyond what humans can do. They are also believed to be very good and obedient to God.

However, some people interpret Bene Elohim to be something else. They believe it could refer to humans who were very great or powerful, maybe even kings or leaders. In this case, it means that these people were very much like God in their wisdom or strength.

So, Bene Elohim can either mean powerful divine beings or humans who are powerful, wise and like God in some ways. It's important to remember that this is all based on interpretations and beliefs passed down through different cultures and religions.
