Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site

Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site is a place where you can go to learn about what life was like a long time ago when people traveled and traded goods. It's like going to a big time machine that takes you back in time!

Back then, there were people called traders who would travel across the big country on horses or wagons to trade things like furs and cloth with other people they met. They would stop at places called forts to rest and get supplies. Bent's Old Fort was one of those forts.

The fort was built by two brothers named Charles and William Bent in the 1830s. They built it with big walls made of adobe (which is like mud and straw) to protect them from bad guys and animals. The walls were so big that they even had rooms inside them!

When you visit Bent's Old Fort, you can walk through the rooms and see what it was like to live there. There's a big kitchen where food was cooked over a fire, a room with beds where people slept, and even a trading room where people did business. You can also see the big walls and the things they used to keep the fort safe.

Going to Bent's Old Fort is a fun way to learn about history and see what life was like a long time ago. So, get ready to hop in the big time machine and travel back in time to the 1830s!
