ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Berar sultanate

Okay, so imagine you're playing with a bunch of different toys. Some are yours and some belong to your friends, but you all share them and play together. Well, a long, long time ago in India, there were different groups of people who each had their own toys and things that were important to them.

One of these groups was called the Berar Sultanate. They were like a little "club" of people who all lived in the same area and followed the same rules and traditions. They had their own ruler, kind of like a president, who made decisions for the group.

Now, the Berar Sultanate was around for quite a while, but eventually it got taken over by another group of people called the Mughals. Kind of like if one of your friends suddenly decided they didn't want to share their toys anymore and took all of them for themselves.

So even though the Berar Sultanate isn't around anymore, their legacy lives on as part of India's history.
