ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Berber languages

Berber languages are a group of different languages spoken by people who have lived in North Africa for a long, long time. Berber languages are like different kinds of ice cream flavors, but instead of vanilla or chocolate, there are different versions of Berber like Tamazight and Tashelhiyt. If you imagine that different languages are like different puzzles, then Berber languages are like a whole bunch of different puzzles, each with their own pieces and shapes. Some people who speak Berber languages live in cities, and others live in villages in the mountains or the desert. Many people in North Africa speak Berber languages along with other languages like Arabic or French. Just like we can enjoy different ice cream flavors or play with different puzzles, people who speak Berber languages enjoy their own unique words, sounds, and ways of communicating with each other.
