Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing

Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC) is a free and open-source system that lets people from all over the world help scientists with their research by using their computers. When you join BOINC, you are helping scientists understand things like diseases, climate change, and how the universe works. Your computer will be asked to crunch numbers from researchers. The numbers help the researchers find answers to their questions. BOINC makes it easy for you to do this—you just download the software and it takes care of the rest!
