ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bessemer process

The Bessemer process is like a super magic trick that turns yucky, dirty iron into shiny, clean steel. First, we put the iron inside a big pot that can spin around and around. We then blow really hot air into the pot, like blowing on hot soup to cool it down. This makes the iron extra hot, and also blows away all the yucky stuff inside of it. After a little while, the iron changes color and becomes steel, which is strong and can be used to make awesome stuff like cars and buildings. It's like turning a dirty frog into a beautiful prince! Amazing, isn't it?
