ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bhiksha

Bhiksha is when someone asks for food or basic necessities because they don't have enough or can't get them on their own. Imagine if you went to a friend's house and you didn't have any food in your backpack, so you asked your friend if they could give you a sandwich or some fruit. That's like asking for bhiksha.

In some cultures, it's a very important practice to offer bhiksha to people who need it. For example, in India, sadhus (holy men) often travel from place to place asking for bhiksha as part of their spiritual practice. People who give bhiksha are seen as very generous and compassionate, and it's considered a way to earn good karma.

Overall, bhiksha is about taking care of each other and being kind and generous to people who are in need.
