Bialy (bread)

Bialy bread is kind of like a round, flat bagel with a dent in the middle. It's called a bialy because it comes from a city in Poland called Białystok.

When bakers make bialy bread, they start by mixing together flour, yeast, salt, and water. Then they let the dough rest and rise.

Once the dough is ready, the bakers take small pieces and roll them out into circles. Then they poke a hole in the middle with their finger and press down on the edges to make the dent.

Before baking the bialy bread, the bakers fill the dent with a mixture of onions, garlic, and poppy seeds. This makes the bread extra tasty and flavorful.

Finally, the bialy bread is baked in a hot oven until it's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's great for breakfast or lunch with some butter, cream cheese, or your favorite sandwich ingredients!
