ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bibliophobia

Bibliophobia is when someone is really scared of books, like how some people might be scared of spiders or the dark. Now, books are just a bunch of paper with words and pictures on them, but some people might feel like books could hurt them or make them feel really anxious.

When a person with bibliophobia sees a book, they might feel their heart racing, their palms sweating or they might even feel like they're going to throw up. It's similar to how someone might feel when they're facing something they're really scared of.

But, it's important to remember that books are not dangerous, they're actually really helpful! They help us learn new things, tell us stories and even make us laugh. It's important to talk to someone if you're feeling scared of books, so they can help you understand that books can be a friend, not something to be afraid of.
