Bikeway safety

Okay, kiddo, let's talk about bikeway safety. You know how we ride our bikes on the sidewalks or the streets? But sometimes, there are special lanes just for bikes, called bikeways. These lanes keep us safe from cars that are passing by, and they are designed to help us ride our bikes easier and faster.

Now, before we ride our bikes on the bikeways, we need to make sure we know how to be safe. That means wearing our helmets, making sure our bikes are working properly, and following the rules of the road.

When we're riding on the bikeway, we need to stay on the right side of the lane so other bikers can pass us easily. We also need to be aware of any obstacles or hazards on the way, like potholes, branches or rocks, and slow down if we need to. If we see other bikers or pedestrians on the bikeway, we need to be respectful and share the lane with them.

It's also important to remember that we shouldn't stop suddenly or swerve abruptly, because other bikers might not see us and could run into us. And when we get to a crosswalk, we need to stop and look both ways before crossing the street.

By being safe and following the rules, we can enjoy riding our bikes on the bikeways without any accidents. So let's put on our helmets, check our bikes, and have fun riding!
