Binning (Metagenomics)

Binning is an important step in understanding the different species in a sample of microbial DNA. Binning takes the raw data from a metagenomics experiment and sorts it into different "bins" based on which species the DNA came from. Each bin is then analyzed to get information about the species it contains. It's like putting things into different buckets so you can study them more easily.
