ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bioasphalt

Bioasphalt is like regular asphalt, which is used to build roads and pavements. However, it is made in a different way. Instead of using petroleum, which is a type of oil, bioasphalt is made from natural substances that come from plants, like sugar, starch, and vegetable oil.

This process is like making a cake. We mix the ingredients together in a bowl, just like we mix the natural substances together to make bioasphalt. Then, we heat the mixture up to make it stickier, or more like a paste, which we can put on the road. And just like a cake, we let the mixture cool and harden, forming a strong and durable surface for us to walk or drive on.

Bioasphalt is better for the environment than regular asphalt because it doesn't use petroleum, which pollutes our earth. It is also safer for people because it doesn't release as many harmful gases when it is being made or when it is being used. So, when we use bioasphalt, we are being kind to the earth and ourselves!
