ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Biological clock (aging)

A biological clock is like a timer inside our bodies that keeps track of how old we are. It measures how much time has passed since we were born and tells our bodies when it's time to age and start looking and acting older. Our biological clock helps make sure that our bodies stay strong and healthy as we get older. As our biological clock ticks, our cells start to wear out and die, and our bodies can't make new cells to replace them. This is why we start to look and feel different as we age.
