Biological pest control

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of pests? You know, those creepy little crawly things that eat up your plants or bugs that make it hard for you to sleep at night? Well, sometimes we need to control their population because they can harm our plants, health, and environment. But we don't always want to use harmful chemicals to get rid of them.

So, instead of using chemicals, we can use natural methods to control the pests. One of those methods is called biological pest control. This is when we use living things like animals, other insects, or even bacteria to get rid of pests.

For example, let's say there are lots of these insects called aphids that are eating up the plants in your garden. But ladybugs love to eat aphids! So we can introduce ladybugs into the garden to help control the aphid population. The ladybugs will eat the aphids and help your plants grow healthy and strong.

Another example is using bacteria. There is a bacteria called Bacillus thuringiensis that is harmful to some types of insects but won't harm people or pets. We can spray this bacteria on our plants, and when the insects eat the plant, they will also eat the bacteria, which will then kill them.

So, by using natural ways like these, we can control pests without harming the environment, and that's what biological pest control is all about!
