ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Biquaternion algebra

Biquaternions are a type of number that are used to understand and solve problems in three-dimensional space, like we see in the world around us.

Imagine you are playing with building blocks that come in different colors, shapes, and sizes. You can use these blocks to make different structures, and you can also move them around in different directions.

In the same way, biquaternions use a system of four numbers (two real numbers and two imaginary numbers) to represent objects in 3D space. These objects can move around in different directions and can also be combined to make more complex objects.

To perform operations with biquaternions, we use special rules based on the properties of the four numbers. For example, we can add, subtract, multiply, and divide biquaternions just like we do with regular numbers.

The biquaternion algebra allows us to solve complex problems in physics, engineering, and other fields where three-dimensional objects and their movements are important. By understanding how to use biquaternions, we can build better models and simulations to help us design and build things in the real world.
