Birthmark

Hey there little one, have you ever noticed a spot or mark on your body that you were born with and never went away? Well, that's called a birthmark!

Sometimes when a baby is growing inside their mommy's tummy, something funny happens and it causes a mark to appear on their skin when they are born. Birthmarks can come in all kinds of shapes, sizes and colors. Some are small like a freckle or a dot, while others can be big and cover a lot of skin.

There are two types of birthmarks: pigmented and vascular. Pigmented birthmarks are caused by extra pigment in the skin, which gives them their color. Vascular birthmarks, on the other hand, happen when there are too many blood vessels growing in one area, which can make them red, pink or purple.

Most of the time, birthmarks are harmless and don't need any treatment. But sometimes, they can be in places that might cause problems, like around the eyes or mouth. In those cases, doctors might suggest removing them, but only if it's safe to do so.

So, that's what a birthmark is. It's just a little mark on our body that makes us special and unique!
