Black Power is a New Zealand organization and political movement that seeks to give power and representation to the Māori people of New Zealand. They advocate for Māori rights to land and cultural heritage, as well as for their rights as the indigenous people of New Zealand. The Māori people were the first inhabitants of New Zealand and were pushed out of their traditional territories and ways of life by Europeans. Black Power works to make sure that the unique customs, language, and land of the Māori people are respected and honored. They work to make sure Māori people are given the same opportunities as everyone else, so that they can succeed in society and control their own future.
