Blaise Diagne

Blaise Diagne was a Senegalese politician who became the first African elected to the French Parliament. He was elected in 1914 and served from 1914 until his death in 1934. Diagne worked to improve the lives of Senegalese people and fight for their rights in France. He also promoted educational opportunities for Africans and worked with African leaders to increase economic opportunities for African people. He was an important leader in the struggle for African freedom and equality.
