ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Block (periodic table)

Great question! A block in the periodic table is a large grouping of elements. It is a way to organize them based on their chemical properties. It is like when you organize your toys in a toy box -- you put all the small toys together, all the stuffed animals together, and so forth. Blocks make it easier to look up elements and figure out how they are related.
