Blood in the Water match

A blood in the water match is a type of water polo game that happened a while back in the Olympics. The game was played between the teams of Hungary and the Soviet Union. During the match, a player from the Hungarian team got injured badly and started to bleed a lot. The water turned red because of this.

However, just because someone bled during the game doesn't mean it ended right then and there. Instead, the game went on, and Hungary finally won. The reason it was such a big deal was that Hungary had been occupied by the Soviet Union at the time, and the two teams had not gotten along well for a while. So, when Hungary won, it was seen as a big victory and a symbol of their will to fight back against their occupiers.

So, in short, a blood in the water match is a water polo game where a player bleeds a lot, and it becomes a big deal because of political tensions between the two teams.
