Boardsports

Boardsports are activities where you use a board to glide on or through water or snow. Think of a skateboard, surfboard or snowboard. These are all boardsports.

When you are on a board, you use your body to balance and navigate. There are different ways to do this depending on the board and the type of boardsport.

For example, on a skateboard, you stand with one foot on the front of the board and one foot on the back. You use your body to shift your weight and turn the board.

On a surfboard, you lie on the board and paddle with your arms to catch a wave. Then, you stand up on the board and balance while riding the wave.

On a snowboard, you strap your feet onto the board and use your body to shift weight and turn while sliding down a snowy mountain.

Boardsports can be very fun, but it's important to wear the right safety gear like helmets and pads to protect yourself from injuries. Always listen to the instructions of a coach or experienced person when trying a new boardsport.
