Bobby soxer (music)

Okay kiddo, so back in the old days (we're talking the 1940s and 50s), there was a type of music that was really popular called swing. People would dance to it and have a really good time!

Now, there were also some girls who really loved this music and in particular, they liked to wear these socks called "bobby socks." These socks were kind of like ankle socks and they had a little frill on them.

So these girls who loved swing music and wore bobby socks became known as "bobby soxers." They were usually teenagers and they loved to listen to singers like Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.

The bobby soxers were known for their fun and energetic spirit and they would often scream and swoon when they saw their favorite singers perform. They also loved to dance and would often organize events called sock hops where they could dance to their hearts' content.

So that's basically what bobby soxers were all about! They were a group of girls who loved swing music, Elvis Presley, and Frank Sinatra, and they liked to wear bobby socks and have a good time dancing and listening to music.
