Body-on-frame

Body-on-frame is like when we play with Legos, and we build a car with a body that sits on a frame. The body is the outside part of the car that we see and touch, and the frame is the inside part that holds the body together and connects it to the wheels.

It’s the same way with a car. The body is the part of the car that we see - it’s made up of the doors, hood, trunk, roof, and other pieces that make up the shape of the car. The frame is the part underneath the body that holds everything together - it’s made up of metal pieces that are welded together to form a strong structure.

Body-on-frame cars are different from cars that have a unibody design. Unibody cars have a frame that’s built into the body itself, so the body and frame are essentially one piece. Body-on-frame cars have a separate frame that the body sits on top of.

Body-on-frame cars used to be very common, but now more cars are built with a unibody design. Body-on-frame cars are still used for things like trucks, SUVs, and other heavy-duty vehicles, because they’re stronger and can handle more weight and rough terrain.

So basically, body-on-frame is like building a car with Legos - the body sits on a separate frame, kind of like a house sits on a foundation.
