ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bolivian Americans

Bolivian Americans are people who were born in Bolivia, which is a country in South America, but have moved to live in the United States of America. This means that they are both from Bolivia and from America!

Just like how you might have friends at school who come from different countries, Bolivian Americans have come to America to live, work, and make a home for themselves. Even though they were born in Bolivia, they now have a new country and culture to explore and learn about!

Bolivian Americans might speak Spanish, which is the main language in Bolivia, but they also might learn English to communicate with people in the US. They might also bring with them traditions from Bolivia, such as music and dance, as well as delicious and unique foods to share with everyone.

Some families with Bolivian American parents might celebrate holidays that are important in Bolivia, like Bolivian Independence Day or Carnival. They might also keep in touch with family back in Bolivia and visit them from time to time.

Overall, being a Bolivian American means having roots in both Bolivia and America, and getting to experience and appreciate different cultures and ways of life!
