Alright kiddo, so it all started way back in the early 1800s when France was fighting wars with other countries. During this time, the French King Charles X got kicked out of his throne and went into exile.
Then, a new guy became the King of France, called Louis-Philippe. He didn't like the way Charles X had ruled and wanted to make some changes. One of his big ideas was to bring back some old kings to their former glory.
One of these old kings was Louis XVI, who was executed during the French Revolution. Louis-Philippe decided to bring back his remains and give him a proper burial in France.
But that wasn't all. Louis-Philippe also wanted to restore Bourbon power in France, which meant bringing back the royal family of Bourbon. This family had ruled France for a really long time before the French Revolution happened.
So, Louis-Philippe got to work and tried to make this happen. He wanted to restore Bourbon power and make France a monarchy again. But, the people of France weren't so sure about this plan.
Many people still remembered the French Revolution and the terrible things that happened during that time. They didn't want to go back to being ruled by a king.
Despite all the backlash, Louis-Philippe kept trying to make Bourbon restoration happen. He even invited members of the Bourbon family back to France and gave them some power.
But all of this effort was in vain. The people of France were too resistant to this idea of restoring Bourbon power. And in the end, the Bourbon restoration failed.
So, there you have it. A long time ago, France tried to restore the Bourbon family as rulers of the country, but it didn't work out. Sometimes, things don't go the way we want them to, even if we try really hard.
