The Brazilian Gold Rush happened in the late 1600s and early 1700s when people from around the world came to Brazil to look for gold. People wanted to find the gold so they could buy things, get money, and become rich. It was like a treasure hunt and everyone hoped to find gold near rivers and streams in Brazil. People from places like Holland, Portugal, and England all went to try and find this gold so they could take it back home and use it to buy things or give it to their families and friends. Lots of people made a lot of money during this time, but many people also spent a lot of money trying to find the gold and didn't make it back.
