ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast cancer is when some special cells in a woman's breast grow too much and turn into a lump or bump. This can be very scary and sometimes hurt. Breast cancer can make a woman very sick and sometimes even go away forever.

But during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, lots of people work together to remind everyone how important it is to take good care of our breasts and get checked by a doctor if we notice anything strange. They remind us to eat healthy, exercise, and stay away from bad things like smoking and too much sun.

They also wear special pink ribbons or put them on things like cars or buildings to show their support for breast cancer research and the women who are fighting it. This way, everyone knows that we are all working together to help find a cure for breast cancer and make sure women feel strong and loved even when they are going through a tough time.
