ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bridge (music)

Imagine you and your friends are playing a game where you are singing a song together. The song has a part in the middle that is different from the beginning and the end. This special part is called the bridge. It's like a bridge you might see in real life that goes over a river or highway. The bridge in a song also takes you to a different place in the music.

So when you sing the song, you start with the beginning, then you sing the bridge to get to the middle of the song, and then you go back to the beginning or sing the end. Just like how you might walk across a bridge, then keep going on the other side.

The bridge in music can have different words or a different melody. It's kind of like a mini-song within a song. But it's important because it helps make the song more interesting and fun to listen to. Think of it as a special surprise in the middle of something you already know and love.
