Brinelling

Brinelling is when something gets a dent in it because it was pressed hard against something else. Imagine you have a piece of paper and you press a coin onto it with enough pressure. The coin will leave a dent in the paper. Brinelling is like that, but instead of paper, it's metal. It happens when metal is pressed between two other pieces of metal and the dent it leaves looks kind of like a dimple in the metal.
