ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

British Bankers' Association

Imagine you have a piggy bank where you put all your savings, and you have a friend who also has their own piggy bank. Just like you and your friend, a lot of adults who work with money like to have their own special kind of piggy bank called a bank. Banks keep all the money safe for people and help them use it to buy things or save it for later.

Now imagine there are many, many banks in a big country like England. The British Bankers' Association (BBA) is like a big club made up of all the different banks in England. Just like how you and your friend might make up a club of two people, the BBA has all the banks come together to do things as a big group.

One of the things the BBA does is make sure all the banks follow the same rules when they are helping people with their money. They also try to make sure people trust the banks and believe they are doing a good job.

In short, the British Bankers' Association is like a club for all the banks in England where they work together to make sure they are doing their best job and people trust them.
