British Cypriots

Do you remember hearing about a place called Cyprus? It's a small island in the Mediterranean Sea, kind of like a puzzle piece that fits between Europe and Asia.

Now, a long time ago, a lot of people lived on the island, but some of them started travelling to different places around the world. Some of them went to a place called Britain, which is very far away from Cyprus. The people from Cyprus who moved to Britain are called British Cypriots.

Even though they live in Britain now, British Cypriots still remember where they came from and they still have a connection to Cyprus. They might speak a language called Greek or eat foods that are popular in Cyprus, like halloumi cheese or souvlaki.

Sometimes, British Cypriots might get together with other British Cypriots to celebrate their culture or talk about their experiences in Britain. They might also try to help people who still live in Cyprus or who have had to leave their homes because of problems in their country.

So, that's British Cypriots - people who come from the small island of Cyprus but now live in Britain and keep their culture alive!
